Cluster Waves

Waves have no fixed form; they arrive freely, improvising as they move. 'Cluster Waves' embodies the idea of waves born from the wind's breath, stirring the water's surface into a dance of rising and falling, transforming stillness into motion.

This project faced a significant challenge: a large structural beam running through the center of the house. The beam created visual pressure, making the space feel narrow and elongated. To address this, a curved ceiling was introduced, inspired by the fluid transformation of waves. Its shape softens the beam’s impact while seamlessly integrating organic curves and a twisting axis. These elements bring rhythmic, flowing energy to the space. Viewed from different angles within the living area, the curves evoke the dynamic motion of splashing waves, enhancing the depth and vibrancy of the design.

The open-plan design flows naturally with the curved ceilings, uniting the living room, dining area, and multipurpose room into a cohesive space. The raised ceiling heights at either end emphasize the dining and multipurpose areas, creating a sense of openness, while the lowered central section provides an intimate and cozy atmosphere for the living room. The kitchen island paired with the TV wall acts as a subtle divider, creating functional zones without disrupting the flow.

Glass bricks beneath the TV wall bring in natural light, easing visual pressure and complementing the twisted axis design. This interplay amplifies the feeling of airflow and openness throughout the space.

With connected pathways, dynamic blue walls, and a playful divider, the design departs from traditional home design approaches. Residents are enveloped in a vibrant, wave-inspired environment that brings energy and harmony to everyday living.
