Prince Bay

With a forward-looking vision, DIA translates the poetic imagery of mountains and sea into a spatial identity that reflects the core ethos of China Merchants Shekou. The design embodies both the brand’s pioneering spirit and the grandeur of nature, while exploring the evolving relationship between people, space, and the environment.

Perched atop the coastal Prince Bay Tower, the exhibition center commands sweeping 360-degree views—mountains rising to the north, sea stretching to the south. This unique setting inspired the guiding concept: “Mountain View, Sea Vista.”

The project occupies an entire office floor, with a circular circulation around the central core. Enclosed functions are arranged to the north, embracing the mountains, while open, panoramic areas face south toward the sea—allowing each side to resonate with its natural counterpart.

The office building presented challenges: limited ceiling height, structural columns, dense mullions, and spatial depth. These were mitigated through the use of natural motifs and strategic zoning. Transparent yet defined spaces guide the eye and soften column impacts. Expansive glass curtain walls draw the mountains and sea indoors, giving the interior a dual character—majestic and crystalline under daylight, serene and luminous under nightfall.
