The 2025 Tu Di Gong Folk Arts Festival reached its largest scale to date, bringing together Earth God deities from all 13 districts of Taoyuan City. Breaking free from geographic boundaries, the gathering symbolized unity in faith and cultural convergence. In addition to local Taoyuan deities, the event also attracted Tu Di Gong delegations from across Taiwan—north from Taipei and New Taipei, south to Checheng Fu’an Temple in Pingtung, and even overseas participation from Penang’s Tua Pek Kong Temple in Malaysia. A total of 266 divine statues and nearly 3000 participants joined the parade, creating the grand spectacle of “A Hundred Deities Assembled, Thousands in Procession, Tens of Thousands in Blessings.” This remarkable scene set a new milestone in the festival’s history, highlighting the expanding cultural influence of local faith on both national and international levels.
The event introduced an innovative color and coding system, using four carefully selected hues: pink, green, orange, and purple, to organize the procession teams by sequence. This approach not only enhanced visual aesthetics and infused Tu Di Gong culture with contemporary expression but also streamlined large-scale event operations, improving on-site flow and overall order. Through the integration of color aesthetics with management efficiency, the festival presented traditional folk belief in an organic and modern form, balancing human warmth with logistical precision. This strengthened public engagement and cultural identity, demonstrating both the cultural depth and operational sophistication of the event.
Rooted in faith transmission, folk education, community building, and environmental sustainability, the festival integrated cross-disciplinary resources to achieve a highly efficient execution. It created the spectacular scene of “A Hundred Deities Assembled, Thousands in Procession, Tens of Thousands in Blessings,” alongside a rich program that included Tiger God mask-painting workshops, the “Tua Pek Kong Visits Taoyuan” exhibition, upcycled wood craft charity markets, the Three Offerings Ritual, divination for longevity peach buns, sticky-rice turtle competitions, the distribution of Ping’an Rice, and a lively marketplace—creating an all-ages-friendly environment. The entire event wove together culture, art, religion, and community, establishing a model for sustainable large-scale festival development.
