The project is situated in Shanghai's Songjiang District, adjacent to the Guangfulin Heritage Park. The area surrounding the Guangfulin site has historically been celebrated as the "Land of Nine Peaks and Three Lakes". It stands as Shanghai's sole natural landscape that harmoniously integrates forested hills with a water network. Throughout the ages, it has also been a distinguished cultural and intellectual hub. The "Ten Scenes of Fulin", composed by the Ming Dynasty poet Lu Runyu, vividly depict the sublime beauty of Guangfulin.
Drawing upon the primordial topography of Sheshan Mountain and the millennial cultural lineage of Guangfulin, the design reinterprets the landscape imagery from the "Ten Scenes of Fulin" through a modern lexicon of landscape architecture. It establishes a contemporary garden aesthetic system characterized by a "modern framework imbued with an Eastern essence". Cultural symbols intrinsic to the Jiangnan (South of the Yangtze) region are organically woven into the spatial sequence. This approach cultivates a low-density villa living atmosphere where "every step reveals a new vista, with the scenery transforming as one moves".
The masterplan emphasizes a dialogue and fusion between natural ecology and humanistic history. While preserving the poetic essence of traditional garden dwelling, it incorporates spatial functions and material textures aligned with contemporary living logic. The ultimate outcome is a high-quality residential environment that possesses both cultural depth and practical utility.
