Inspired by cantilever architecture, Traverse explores the tension created when one object passes through another. A solid wooden volume is intersected by a continuous structural frame that traverses the cabinet’s body, simultaneously supporting, penetrating, and redefining it. The cantilevered gesture challenges visual expectations of balance, creating a moment of suspension where mass appears to defy gravity.
Rather than functioning as an applied support, the traversing frame becomes an architectural element. Through this act of passage, Traverse frames movement within a static object, transforming the cabinet into a study of structure, intersection, and equilibrium.
