About The Entry

RF Lab’s first lifestyle gallery in China is located in a historic British-style building in Shanghai, originally constructed in 1921 as the premises of Brunner, Mond & Co. Within this century-old setting, the international lifestyle brand introduces its spatial concept, Reconnection, an exploration of how environments can nurture emotional restoration. Through the thoughtful interplay of furniture, light, plants, vases, sound, and tactile materials, the space unfolds as a multisensory experience where art and design converge. The result is an immersive environment that gently guides visitors toward a state of calm and mental rejuvenation.

The interior features earth-toned finishes through walls and floors, creating a calm and neutral ambiance. Natural linen and wool carpets add softness underfoot, while plants bring subtle fragrances and visual warmth. Collaboratively designed furniture, with tactile surfaces, invites touch and grounds the mind in the present. Himalayan salt lamps cast a gentle glow, encouraging visitors to pause, breathe, and reconnect with inner peace.

Light filters through a curved screen, subtly drawing visitors deeper inside. The screen’s curved silhouette mirrors RF Lab’s fluid design language. Artistic luminaires respond to human presence, adjusting brightness as people move—a poetic nod to the nuances of human relationships.

The experience culminates in the Garden of Awakening, where visitors are invited to sit among plants and enjoy a cup of tea in what the designers describe as a “sunlit forest bath.” In this moment of pause, the body becomes a sensory instrument, reconnecting with nature through light, scent and touch.

Throughout the project, light operates as the project’s narrative thread, flowing from shadowed stillness toward luminous openness. As visitors move through the space, the journey mirrors a quiet emotional transition—from inward reflection toward a renewed awareness of the surrounding world.
