The standout feature of the 2024 Yilan Lunar Valentine’s Day is the 99-meter-long “Starlight Magpie Bridge,” built with LED neon strip lighting. The bridge appears to transcend time and space, crossing the universe, guiding visitors on a fantastical journey through the design. Imagine that, in the parallel universe, Weaver Girl represents Yilan’s goddess of flowers, while the Cowherd symbolizes the young man of technology. It feels as though one is wandering through the Milky Way in the metaverse. Visitors are immersed in the nice touch of lighting art, with every corner offering the perfect spot for photos, creating distinctive moments for each couple. The lighting harmonizes with the starlight, allowing couples to enjoy a romantic experience on the trendiest Valentine’s Day night. The 2024 Yilan Hot Spring Festival centers around the theme “Indigo Dyeing Romance in Jiaoxi, Kumquat Reflecting the Golden Spring,” highlighting the intricate pattern of indigo dyeing works under dim lighting. The pattern appears to flow like art in the water, reflecting the integration of nature and culture, blending visual beauty with spiritual connection. Through the theme “Indigo Dyeing Romance in Jiaoxi,” the designer aims to help visitors rediscover the local culture and craftsmanship while they relax, infusing the unique culture into their hot spring trip. On the other hand, kumquat is regarded as a sunshine elf in Jiaoxi, bringing together sweetness and fragrance. With “Kumquat Reflecting the Golden Spring” as the theme, the concept aims to soothe both body and mind. Kumquat is not only a local delicacy but also an artistic element. It is combined with coffee, palmier, and other local features to offer a distinctive local flavor. Extending the design of hot spring pools and installations, golden lighting reflects off the water’s surface, resembling the scattered stars. It creates a place where visitors can savor the food and experience healing. The 2024 Love in Christmas, Love in Yilan Festival integrates Yilan’s local culture, architecture, and landscapes with Christmas-themed characters. The house number plaques of 12 towns and cities of Yilan County, each distinguished by different colors, are showcased at the County Council square.
