The Shams Al Riyadh Strip Mall landscape design exemplifies sustainable architecture that integrates seamlessly with Riyadh's unique urban context and semi-arid climate. The primary goal was to create an exceptional outdoor space that enhances the shopping experience while aligning with the client’s commitment to sustainability.



The primary goal of this project was to create an extraordinary outdoor space that seamlessly integrates with the surrounding urban context, reflecting the client's values and vision. Collaborating closely with the design team and client, we ensured that the strip mall's landscape design not only enhanced the shopping experience but also fostered a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for all visitors.



The landscape design incorporates climate-sensitive strategies to withstand the region’s high temperatures and limited rainfall. Drought-tolerant plants and shading techniques significantly reduce water consumption and energy use, while a smart irrigation system ensures efficient water management, essential in this water-scarce area. These strategies work together to create a resilient and sustainable outdoor environment.



To minimize the environmental footprint, the project prioritizes the use of locally sourced, low-impact materials, reducing transportation emissions and promoting harmonious integration with the surrounding urban fabric. By incorporating native plant species, the design supports local biodiversity, helping preserve the region’s natural heritage.
