This project transforms a long-abandoned building into a regenerative flagship store & gallery that merges architecture, fashion, art, and community. The decision to prioritize retrofit over new construction reduced embodied carbon by preserving the building's structure and avoiding the emissions associated with demolition and new material production. Through adaptive reuse, circular materials, rainwater harvesting, and solar energy, it achieves near self-sufficiency with minimal carbon impact. More than a sto...
The project transforms a long-abandoned building into Lafort’s first flagship store & gallery. Choosing retrofit over new construction drastically reduces carbon footprint. Beyond retail, it acts as an urban and cultural hub—a manifesto of circular design, environmental responsibility, and the fusion of fashion, architecture, and community.
The architecture preserves the original structure, adding light-filled volumes, a sculptural staircase, and organic geometries. Circular materials—recycled stone, PET, and metal—shape the space. A modular, low-waste construction process combines material honesty with a gallery-like atmosphere that enhances the brand experience.
More than a store, it’s a multifunctional space: retail, gallery, cultural venue, and community hub. Flexible layouts support exhibitions, events, and collaborations. Passive design, natural lighting, and modularity enhance comfort, reduce energy demand, and create a space for interaction, creativity, and sustainability.
The project redefines retail by transforming waste into architecture. Its regenerative approach—retrofitting instead of building new—combines circular materials, zero waste, solar energy, and rainwater harvesting. It’s not just a store but a scalable model for sustainable, socially engaged, and carbon-conscious architecture.
