“Blue Celebration” Gift Box – Design Concept

Dong shan Zhan has become a beloved culinary landmark in Taiwan, preserving authentic flavors through craftsmanship and earning recognition in the Michelin Bib Gourmand guide. In 2025, under the theme “Blue Celebration,” we reinterpreted the aesthetics of festive gifting and created a pork knuckle gift box that embodies the abundance of the island.

Instead of the traditional use of auspicious red commonly seen in Asian festive packaging, the design adopts “Moonlit Blue” as its foundation, accented with shimmering blue-green tones. The visual impression evokes the subtle glaze reflections of ceramics under the night sky—calm, elegant, and poetic.

The surface features hot-stamped gold lines that capture the moment of fireworks bursting in celebration. Like radiant starlight spreading across the sky, these lines symbolize joy and the transmission of heartfelt blessings. Centered proudly is a golden pig motif, reimagined through contemporary artistry—an ancient symbol of abundance that honors the product's essence while embracing modern sophistication.

Crafted with intention, the packaging combines matte-textured paper, intricate embossing, and selective gold foil stamping to create a layered sensory experience. Unboxing becomes a ceremonial journey—an invitation to savor not only the delicacy within but also the emotional resonance of tradition redefined.

“Blue Celebration” is not only a gift of flavor, but also a design statement. By weaving Eastern aesthetics with contemporary expression, this gift box allows the soul of Taiwanese cuisine to shine on the global stage, glowing with the radiant energy of cultural celebration.
