About The Entry

This project transcends mere renovation; it is a poetic response to urban living. Within this 626 sq. ft. footprint, the design eschews superficial decoration in favor of an organic harmony between material, light, and utility. Guided by a Nordic sensibility, the entire spatial narrative is rooted in a single purpose: to serve the human experience by stripping away stylistic noise.

The entrance is designed to ease the transition into the home. A simple bench merges with a sleek cabinet to clear away the clutter of daily life, ensuring the first experience of the interior is one of absolute order.

An emphasis on openness defines the home’s communal center. By replacing the kitchen partition with a sleek glass sliding door, the design transforms a once-isolated “backstage” into a seamless heart for family life. This transparent boundary seals off cooking fumes when necessary, yet remains open to allow for intimate interaction, while integrated cabinetry conceals appliances to keep the countertops clean and minimalist.

The private quarters are treated with the same intentionality. In the son’s bedroom, custom furniture condenses study, play, and storage into a cohesive system. The desk unfurls along the window to maximize natural light, flanked by open shelving that makes organization feel intuitive and effortless. In the master suite, storage becomes an art of disappearing. Floor-to-ceiling wardrobes dissolve into the walls to preserve tranquility, while vertical wood slats introduce a rhythmic texture that visually elongates the room.

By stripping away superficial detailing and focusing on the human experience, the design allows the space to speak for itself, returning the home to its truest essence: the simple art of living.
