This project entails the transformation of an old house into a modern office space, seamlessly integrating Japanese Zen principles with the aesthetics of wabi-sabi. By doing so, it breaks free from the traditional, austere atmosphere often associated with conventional offices. The design masterfully emphasizes natural simplicity, deliberately opting for raw materials such as stone and solid wood. These choices not only highlight a rugged texture but also imbue the space with a sense of vitality and warmth. Furthermore, the innovative use of a lofted mezzanine combined with an open layout effectively blurs the boundaries between floors. This architectural decision enhances spatial freedom and promotes a dynamic environment where creativity can flourish. Ultimately, this design aims to create a relaxed and inspiring workplace, inviting individuals to engage, collaborate, and innovate in comfort.

As visitors gracefully ascend the outdoor staircase, they are greeted by a striking moss-covered painting at the top, artfully concealing a storage room that has been masterfully transformed from the original building's main entrance. Upon reaching the first floor, they notice that the windows have been redesigned into impressive floor-to-ceiling entrance windows, enhanced by elegantly woven bamboo ceilings that beautifully guide the light and draw the eye in captivating directions. Moreover, the parapet walls have been thoughtfully elevated to obscure the cluttered view of the street, creating a serene atmosphere. This design seamlessly connects the entrance flow to the inviting terrace, making the lush greenery a prominent focal point of the experience. Continuing through the entrance, visitors discover a multifunctional relaxation area, where staggered steps serve a dual purpose as comfortable seating, offering versatile usage options for various gatherings. The open-plan layout, characterized by a soaring ceiling that spans both the first and second floors, further enhances spatial transparency and fosters a sense of interaction among the spaces. This harmonious design not only invites exploration but also cultivates a warm, welcoming environment for all who enter.
