Situated along the picturesque Bali Left Bank Park in New Taipei City, the Bali City Sand Sculpture Festival stands as a vivid embodiment of the city’s waterfront revitalization and public art vision. The Left Bank Park showcases how urban design can coexist with nature — a harmonious blend of culture, art, and landscape. Now in its 8th edition, the 2025 festival features the world-renowned animation Digimon as its theme. Classic characters are transformed into towering 4-meter sand and light sculptures, merging craftsmanship with digital fantasy. The exhibition site integrates seamlessly with Tamsui’s natural scenery and the elegant Tamsui-Kand Bridge, offering breathtaking views that become even more dazzling under night illumination. The exhibition unfolds in four chapters — Origins, Emblem Trials, Growth Journey, and Ultimate Evolution — inviting visitors on an immersive voyage through light, sound, and online interaction. A digital psychological test enables participants to discover their own “chosen partner,” triggering personalized projection effects and deepening emotional engagement. The festival also promotes sustainable design by using natural beach sand as the primary medium — ensuring artworks naturally return to the environment after exhibition. This low-impact, temporary approach exemplifies the potential of sustainable public art.The 2025 Bali City Sand Sculpture Festival is a successful model of experiential public art, blending classic IP, land art, and digital technology to inspire cultural revitalization and economic renewal along the New Taipei waterfront.
