About The Entry

This interior design project is tailored for a residence in downtown Xi’an. Centered on the concept of ‘tranquility within the bustle and peace within the busyness’, it blends the unhurried elegance of this millennia-old city with the relaxing atmosphere of modern living, bringing tangible poetry to the everyday life of urban families.

The project boasts a clean, orderly layout, defined by simple geometric lines such as straight edges and gentle arcs. At the same time, it adopts elements like perforated partitions and bookshelves to create a ‘separated yet connected’ visual effect, improving spatial transparency and establishing a rhythmic visual flow. As for color selection, a palette of soft beige, warm gray, and natural wood tones—accented with terracotta ochre—strikes a perfect balance between modern minimalism and unpretentious elegance, evoking an image of tranquil, leisurely life.

The master bedroom adopts a color scheme of pure white and serene gray, creating a soothing atmosphere that brings life back to its essence. Natural luxury stone, with unique texture and luster, is subtly embedded in select areas to become a visual focal point of the space, exuding understated luxury within simplicity. The balcony serves as a corner for contemplation and relaxation, gently integrating natural light and urban views into everyday life—guiding residents to inner peace and calm. The basement, designed as a ‘family interaction park’, breaks away from the dreariness of conventional underground spaces. Walls finished with warm hues (light beige, wood tones, etc.), soft furnishings in vibrant shades (light yellow, misty blue, coral pink, bright red, etc.), colorful rugs, and child-friendly furniture collectively result in a lively atmosphere. One side of the area features a long craft table for parent-child activities and a built-in bookshelf, while the other side is kept as an open activity space, forming a shared family space that balances companionship with creativity.
