Interior Design - Clinic / Hospital Room

Client's Name

CLINIQUE PRINTEMPS

Country / Region

Taiwan

This design draws inspiration from the captivating elegance of a Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic reminiscent of Republic of China-era Shanghai. By intricately weaving historic elements into its medical functions, the design not only honors the client’s preference for classic architecture but also creates a deeply immersive experience. To evoke a sense of warmth and nostalgia, the design deliberately eschews the conventional coldness of marble and synthetic white materials. Instead, it showcases a rich palette of reclaimed wood and vintage furniture, which serves as the backbone of the visual narrative. Furthermore, natural materials such as terracotta and vintage bricks are artfully integrated, enhancing the authenticity and charm of the space. Moreover, the layout is meticulously crafted to delineate functional zones, seamlessly guiding patients through various areas while preserving the nostalgic architectural elements. As a result, the clinic fosters a tranquil and inviting atmosphere that not only promotes healing but also resonates harmoniously within the vibrant urban landscape. The entrance welcomes visitors with a striking double-door design, elegantly framed by slender wooden panels and adorned with moru glass that artfully balances light transmission with privacy. As guests step inside, they are greeted by the reception counter in the lobby's inviting waiting area. This counter, crafted from reclaimed wood planks, showcases a substantial, textured grain that beautifully contrasts with the soft curvature of the ceiling overhead. Furthermore, soft LED strips are discreetly integrated along the edge of the ceiling, working in harmony with vintage pendant lights to create a warm, inviting ambiance. As one moves further into the corridor, they encounter wooden lattice panels, skillfully arranged in a linear fashion that guides the flow of movement. Under the gentle glow of warm lighting, these panels cast rich and dynamic shades of light and shadow, imparting a sense of fluidity reminiscent of a time tunnel. At the end of the corridor, a solid wood bench offers a serene spot for visitors to pause and reflect. To enhance privacy, the examination room doors feature a sophisticated combination of clear glass and delicate white cotton curtains, echoing the simplicity and rigor of early Republican-era clinics.
