Anchored in Fuzhou’s unique geography—riverside and coastal—and the inclusive spirit of its thousand‑year maritime culture, this project adopts Neo‑Shanghainese Aesthetics as its design framework. It fuses the geometric syntax of ART DECO with the intangible cultural heritage symbols of Fuzhou’s golden fish, translating the essence of traditional craftsmanship and the soul of Shanghainese art through a minimalist modern language. The result is a contemporary reinterpretation of local cultural DNA.
The design unfolds in three progressive spatial narrative sequences and four bespoke emotional experience nodes, creating a landscape system that precisely balances a sense of ceremony with intimate privacy. It builds an immersive, story‑driven field where natural texture and cultural depth coexist.
Drawing from the scene‑setting logic of luxury hotels and the decorative vocabulary of Neo‑Shanghainese art, the project distills signature linear textures, geometric motifs, and arch structures as its design syntax. Through a choreography of spatial opening and closure (transition, development, climax, and repose), it achieves a seamless translation from the urban public interface to the private community garden.
Key Spatial Nodes
· Entrance Space – A ceremonial landmark on the urban interface
· Sunken Courtyard – A green luxury stone screen wall that directly echoes the design theme
· Secret Garden – Layered soft plantings that dissolve the rigid boundaries of architecture, achieving a unified synthesis of avant‑garde artistry and everyday functionality
The project establishes a multi‑dimensional, sustainable ecological system:
· Planting: Priority given to native and locally adapted species, avoiding ecological risks from exotic plants.
· Water features: Integrated rainwater harvesting and recycling for efficient water use.
· Materials: Local stone preferred to reduce transportation carbon emissions.
· Lighting: Smart sensor‑controlled systems for energy‑efficient operation.
With cultural heritage as its spiritual core and ecological sustainability as its spatial foundation, the project constructs a landscape field of depth—where historical continuity meets contemporary living warmth.
