Floating Courtyard Residence

Floating Courtyard Residence is a contemporary high-rise residential interior designed as an urban sky villa. The project reimagines the traditional Eastern courtyard within the context of a modern luxury apartment, transforming nature, light, water and daily rituals into the spiritual core of the home.

The central concept of the project is “a courtyard floating above the city.”

In traditional Eastern architecture, the courtyard is not merely an outdoor space; it is the emotional center of the home, connecting family, nature, time and ritual. This project brings that spatial wisdom into a contemporary high-rise residence, creating a floating courtyard as the heart of the apartment.

The residence is organized around a central water courtyard. A living tree rises from the reflective water surface, surrounded by stones, moss and low seating. Above it, a cloud-like luminous ceiling softens the spatial atmosphere and creates a sense of calm suspension. Around this central courtyard, the living room, dining room, tea room, study, family lounge and private suites unfold in a continuous yet layered sequence.

The innovation of Floating Courtyard Residence lies in its reinterpretation of luxury apartment living. Instead of treating the apartment as a collection of high-end rooms, the design proposes a new residential model: a high-rise home organized around an interior courtyard ecosystem.

The project transforms the traditional idea of courtyard living into a vertical urban condition. It allows nature, family interaction, hospitality, tea rituals, reading and rest to coexist around one central spatial anchor. In doing so, the project offers a new vision for future urban luxury living — one that is not only visually refined, but emotionally restorative.
