“Marvelous Moments” is centered on Yilan’s Lunar New Year’s Eve celebration, integrating local culture, interactive experiences, and sustainable design into a cohesive lightscape. The project is structured as a five-stage journey of light, with each zone guiding visitors through shifting sensory and emotional experiences:
• Zone 1 | Entrance Plaza – Origin of Light
Warm white light points form a delicate canopy resembling a starry sky, enveloping visitors in a sense of protection and blessing.
• Zone 2 | Water Area – Reflected Realms
Lighting interacts with water reflections, creating a dual-layer visual experience. Acrylic butterfly elements introduce a poetic connection between nature and festivity.
• Zone 3 | Chimney Lawn – Wandering in Between
A fabric maze with indirect lighting creates soft spatial layers and depth, encouraging exploration while evoking curiosity and playfulness.
• Zone 4 | Gateway Typography Zone – Radiant Path
Blue-toned ground lighting and luminous spheres establish a rhythmic visual sequence, guiding visitors into the illuminated environment.
• Zone 5 | Ambient Light Zone – Harmonized Landscape
Lighting blends into the environment, becoming a subtle companion rather than a focal point. Warm glowing spheres among trees create a comfortable nighttime walking experience, symbolizing everyday blessings.
All zones adopt energy-efficient lighting systems, modular construction, and intelligent control technologies, combined with recyclable materials to achieve sustainability goals. Light is not merely an installation—it acts as a medium connecting cultural narratives, spatial experience, and human interaction. The project preserves Yilan’s local identity while offering visitors an immersive, explorative, and emotionally resonant journey through light. The project integrates aesthetic expression, interactive experience, and environmental sustainability as its core design principles. The entrance plaza utilizes lightweight structural systems, translucent membrane materials, and high-efficiency lighting strings to create a dual-mode (day/night) visual experience that is both approachable and photography-friendly. The water feature zone combines transparent and frosted acrylic elements with low-energy LED lighting to produce layered visual effects through light refraction and reflection. Design considerations include ecological preservation, maintaining buffer space to minimize disruption to aquatic environments.
